Dignitas trying DAVEY as in-game leader; TenZ out
Since parting ways with Michael "Grim" Wince and Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki at the conclusion of MDL Season 28, Dignitas had been playing with Anthony "gMd" Guimond and Tyson "TenZ" Ngo in qualifiers for StarSeries i-League Season 6 and MSI MGA.
Dust2.us has now learned that TenZ is not in Dignitas' plans moving forward, with the team instead looking to David "DAVEY" Stafford, who most recently played with boxr.
The MDL team are looking to the veteran Canadian to pick up the mantle of in-game leader. In the most recent iteration of the team, AWPer Peter "ptr" Gurney had the IGL responsibilities.
The current formulation of Dignitas looks like:
- Mitch "mitch" Semago
- Gage "Infinite" Green
- Peter "ptr" Gurney
- Anthony "gMd" Guimond
- David "DAVEY" Stafford
- Josh "shinobi" Abastado (Coach)
This of course begs the question of what is going on in the boxr camp, as it would seemingly leave them down to three men, compounded with the departure of brief stand-in Kristjan "fejtZ" Allsaar. We will have an update on that soon.
The change also changes the course of action for MDL teams Monstars and RESOLUTE, who Dust2.us previously reported were set to join forces for the upcoming IEM Chicago qualifier. With TenZ no longer tied to Dignitas, he is set to make a return to teammates Victor "food" Wong and David "Toy" Han.
Interestingly, the two teams are now signed up for the qualifier separately, RESOLUTE with their remaining trio, and Monstars with David "Xp3" Garrido, Dylan "RIKO" Sabin-Arnce, and Jason "neptune" Tran. However, as neptune is not yet 16-years-old, he is unable to participate in the qualifier.
