Cloud9 and Luminosity eliminated in London
Cloud9 have bowed out of the ECS Season 5 Finals after a close series against Fnatic.
Starting on Overpass, Cloud9 grabbed the opening pistol, but would find themselves down at the half thanks to a strong performance from Jesper "JW" Wecksell. Undaunted, Timothy "autimatic" Ta helped his team scrape by the Swedes with a score of 16-14.
Train was all in favor of Fnatic, as Robin "flusha" Rönnquist lead the way for his team to a 16-9 score. On the decider map of Cache, Cloud9 looked poised to take the series with a 9-6 on the Terrorist side. Unfortunately, Fnatic's offense was stronger, as they took ten rounds whilst limiting Cloud9 to four.
Over in Group B, Luminosity fell to the hodge-podge G2 lineup in shocking fashion, just barely managing to reach double-digits before bowing out on Cache. This is the second event in a row which Lucas "steel" Lopes and his men have exited in groups.
The ECS Season 5 Finals will continue with Liquid taking on Fnatic, in the hopes of avenging their countrymen and securing a playoff berth.
