FNS' game of 4D chess comes to an end on Cloud9
Cloud9 have announced that they have moved Pujan "FNS" Mehta to an inactive position on their CS:GO roster. The move comes after joining the team just under two months ago, on April 2nd.
The decision comes after the team's disappointing performances after the ELEAGUE Major continued on to the number of events after the veteran IGL had joined. The first event with FNS was DreamHack Masters Marseille, where they exited the group stage on top, before a grueling defeat to Gambit followed them in the quarterfinals. Since then, Cloud9 have gone out in groups in back-to-back events, starting with IEM Sydney before the recent ESL Pro League Finals.
His replacement has been touted as one of two Frenchmen, as reported by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis of DBLTAP two days ago. According to the report, the American team are looking at replacing the Canadian with either Dan "apEX" Madesclaire or Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, who are set to be left out in the cold in an upcoming French shuffle, as reported by Flickshot.fr.
FNS' final tournament with Cloud9 shall be the upcoming ECS Season 5 Finals in London, where Tarik "tarik" Celik will return to the IGL position as the team "begin[s] to build for the future".
Cloud9's roster is now as follows:
- Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- Tarik "tarik" Celek
- Will "RUSH" Wierzba
- Soham "valens" Chowdhury (Coach)
- Pujan "FNS" Mehta (inactive)
UPDATE: FNS has posted a lengthy TwitLonger on his removal from the active lineup.
