Fistbumps for playoffs

NRG Brehze past Renegades to StarSeries i-League playoffs

The North Americans swiftly pick up the win in two maps.

NRG and Renegades were set to face off against each other in the final round of games in the group stage, with both teams on a 2-2 record. A win would send one to the playoffs, whilst a loss would see the others' tournament run come to a swift end.

NRG kicked off the match in style, securing a 16-11 win over Renegades. Having dominated the first half of Cache 11-4, it was Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte leading the line for his team, securing 112.7 ADR with a 1.71 rating in the map with 29 kills. The second half was a much closer affair, with Renegades stringing rounds together to attempt a comeback. It never came as NRG finally secured the winning round after a couple of economic resets.

Overpass was much more in NRG's favor. Opening up the first half having reset Renegades' pistol round, they pushed on to claim nine rounds on the T-side. The second half saw Jacob "FugLy" Medina and Ethan "nahtE" Arnold share the starring roles this time around, taking the team to a strong 16-7 victory after only losing one round on their CT-half.
