The final match of day three was to be Liquid vs AVANGAR in the 2-1 pool of the Swiss group. The winner would advance to the playoffs and the loser would move to the 2-2 pool set to take place tomorrow.
The first map Mirage was AVANGAR's pick, and the Kazakh's got off to a strong start, going 8-0 and leading 10-5 at halftime. Despite the efforts of Nick "nitr0" Cannella, AVANGAR managed to grind out the Terrorist side and close out the map 16-11.
Dust II was much more in Liquid's territory, and the North Americans also gained a strong lead early on, racking up an 11-4 scoreline by the half from the T side. Star player Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski stood out on this map, putting up 30 kills and helping his team to take Dust II 16-5.
The decider match of Cache was a bit closer initially than the other two, with Liquid edging out the first half 10-5. EliGE once again put on a masterful performance and helped the North Americans to lock down their Counter-Terrorist side and win Cache 16-10 and the series 2-1.
