Torqued first to drop out of DreamHack Open Tours
After coming all the way up from the North American Open Qualifier, Torqued has been eliminated by AGO in just two maps at DreamHack Open Tours. Their elimination equally marks the end for the region's run in France, as they were the sole North American team in attendance.
The brief series between the two began on Train, with Torqued taking a decided lead on their CT-side with eight rounds to AGO's one. Shortly after, the Poles went on a six round tear to close out the half, nearly tying up the scoreline 7-8 for their side. Carrying over their momentum from their T-side finish, AGO were relentless and continued their rampage until the maps closure, silencing Torqued with a 16-8 scoreline to claim map one.
As the two transitioned over to Inferno, Torqued recomposed themselves enough to take an early lead on their CT-side by winning the pistol and subsequent two rounds. The remainder of the half was a series of scattered strings of rounds being traded back and forth between the two, until the eventual repeat of the prior map's 8-7 half-time scoreline in favor of Torqued.
As AGO swapped to their CT-side, it immediately began to look grim for Torqued, after a waterfall play out of A-site balcony in the pistol round ended in disaster, the catalyst that would allow the Poles to maintain control of the economy for the following three rounds. The last effective effort from Torqued were the three that followed, as AGO would run away with the game after, leading to the North American's elimination in just two maps.
Torqued will now reflect on their performances in Tours and prepare for the upcoming ESEA MDL Season 28 which begins on May 21st, as well as ESL One Belo Horizonte which will take place between June 13-17.
