oNe finish second to VG.Flash at WCA Finals
World Cyber Arena's grand finals have finally come to a close with VG.Flash claiming a 2-0 victory over oNe on Mirage and Train.
The event was marred with issues following an initial delay that saw the organizers postpone the December finals to an unspecified date in 2018. When the date for the event in China was finally unveiled, a number of teams found it to be in conflict with IEM Sydney, set to begin later tonight at 10 PM EDT.
This resulted in many of the most notable names in Heroic, Chiefs, and Gambit pulling out of the event due to scheduling conflicts, and later saw the Argentinian side of Isurus choose not to attend in order to focus on regional competition. Isurus was soon replaced by oNe, who made it to the grand finals of the event based on round differences due to a three-way tie in the group stage.
Major legends Quantum Bellator Fire and eventual WCA champions VG.Flash also made their way to the event following announcements from Luminosity and AGO, who also pulled out of the event due to scheduling conflicts.
The standings for WCA 2017 Finals are as follows:
1. VG.Flash - $39,477
2. oNe - $15,790
3. Quantum Bellator Fire - $7,895
4. Next Generation
5-6. Recca
5-6. IMBA.SAS
