OpTic, Torqued, Luminosity and Ghost secure DreamHack Marseille Closed Qualifier spots
Day two of the DreamHack Masters Marseille North America Open Qualifier has concluded, from which the final four teams for the Closed Qualifiers were confirmed. With the entire qualifier being a best-of-one single-elimination, every single round counted.
The first team through was the American-Danish mixture of OpTic, after a quick 16-6 win over RONIN on Mirage. Their journey through the bracket was fairly painless, as was RONIN's path after securing a forfeit win against MDL competitors Etherian.
Torqued was next through, after a 16-4 demolition job on Train against Dignitas. Torqued's run through to qualification was a simple one, picking up quick wins on the first two days before Nick "N4j" Norman's side offered them to Dignitas with a forfeit. Dignitas also had a fairly quick run through, with their highest profile match coming against Bravado.
The third team through were the Brazilians of Luminosity, who went straight through Swole Patrol on Train. Their road to this point meant they came up against their compatriots of oNe, where similarly they came on top quite handidly. Swole Patrol got through after taking down Most Wanted quite simply.
The final team through was Ghost, in the closest match of these four. Up against AZIO on Mirage, they were forced to a 16-11 win to secure their place. Ghosts' run to qualification wasn't a simple one, facing overtimes and a multitude of close matches before reaching the quarterfinals. AZIO on the other hand had a simple run through, barely building up a sweat before losing to Ghost.
These results leave the DreamHack Masters Marseille North America Closed Qualifier teams as:
