Torqued take a bite out of Vega Squadron
The first elimination match of cs_summit 2 between Torqued and Vega Squadron began on Inferno. Despite losing the pistol round, Kenneth "koosta" Suen and Keven "AZK" Lariviere helped put Torqued in an early lead. Nikolay "mir" Bityukov and Pavel "hutji" Lashkov combined to give Vega two more rounds, but a response from Braxton "swag" Pierce kept Torqued in control. Vega Squadron got two more rounds later in the half, but a good triple kill from Joshua "steel" Nissan, put Torqued at a 10-5 lead at the half.
Torqued won the second half pistol, and seeming to mirror the first half, lost the second round. They didn't let the phase them though, as they took the third round despite the efforts of Sergey "keshandr" Nikishin. Dmitriy "jR" Chervak and Vega Squadron attempted to make a comeback, but eventually swag and co. came out on top, winning Inferno 16-13.
Mirage began very close between the two teams, with steel, koosta, and jR picking up multi-kills for their respective sides. Torqued eventually pulled away, and with some huge plays by koosta established a 7-3 lead. Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov kept Vega in the half however, and by the side switch the Russian side had seven rounds to Torqued's eight.
Torqued won another pistol, but got off to a rough start to the half. jR and mir did most of the heavy hitting for Vega Squadron, but AZK and steel stepped up for their team and the scoreline was kept close all the way until the 28th round. At 14-14, swag secured two critical kills, and allowed Torqued to claim match point. steel's men capitalized on the chance and took the win on Mirage 16-14 and the series 2-0.

Torqued move on the next stage of the loser's bracket and will face Liquid tomorrow. Vega Squadron have been eliminated by an NA MDL team after a classic Vega performance at the Major last month.
