Ghost Academy disband
Yesterday Ghost Academy's Chad "oderus" Miller took to Twitter to announce that he was parting ways with the organization he has represented since October of last year.
oderus' tweet was followed by similiar messages from IGL Jarod "Douglas" Onorato and Bryan "MAKKA" Drouillard, who both announced their free agency as well.
While the team should have come into the season riding the high of an unexpected LAN appearance at the ESEA MDL Global Challenge, they were instead hampered by the new MDL age rule and the retirement of Andrew "ShoT_UP" Orlowski, forcing them to alter their composition from last season.
When reached for comment by Dust2.us, a member of the team cited differing priorities within the squad, as well as the impending departure of Anthony "gMd" Guimond to another team as driving factors behind the disband. Also complicating matters was the team only having one remaining roster addition for the season.
Ghost Academy's roster at the time of splitting up was:
- Jarod "Douglas" Onorato
- Bryan "MAKKA" Drouillard
- Chad "Oderus" Miller
- Anthony "gMd" Guimond
- Loic "effys" Sauvageau
- Kenny "kenny-1os-" Dang (Coach)
- Jason "neptune" Tran (Inactive)
Ghost Academy had a 2-1 record in ESEA MDL, and their next match was scheduled for February 7th, though it now seems highly unlikely it will be played. The team was ranked #36 in the world according to HLTV.
