Supernova Comets claim a dominant debut | ESL Impact League S7 Week 1 Roundup
ESL Impact League has returned for Season 7, and with it eight teams have played their opening matches as they all aim for one of two spots in the ESL Impact Season 7 Finals at DreamHack Dallas. Results this week were relatively unsurprising, with favorite teams from last season picking up relatively one-sided wins, with newcomers Ghost and Black Mold also securing hard-fought wins.
Nyx Empyre 0-2 Supernova Comets
One of the one-sided season openers was that of Nyx Empyre versus Supernova Comets, with the latter team reminding us why they are one of the best teams in the league. Supernova Comets opened up the series with a strong 13-7 win on Anubis despite trailing 4-0 at the start of the map, before the team mounted a 13-0 blowout on Dust2 to win the series 2-0.

FlyQuest RED 2-1 Lumen fe 
The next match to conclude was far more competitive, with FlyQuest RED needing overtime to strike the first blow on Anubis, winning the map 19-15 after a close game in regulation. The second map in the series, Dust2, went the way of Lumen fe after Yana "sakura" Beresneva rallied to claim it 13-11. With the series being incredibly close during the first two maps the third map, Mirage, was somewhat disappointing as FlyQuest RED dominated to secure it 13-2 and win the series 2-1.

MEGA JUNERS 1-2 Ghost
The series between MEGA JUNERS and Ghost looks closer than it actually was as Ghost had to forfeit map one due to players being missing from the server. When they did finally show up, the series was quite one-sided as Ghost initially won Inferno 13-6 before quickly wrapping up Anubis 13-2.

The final series of week one saw the newly formed Black Mold mixteam play a close series against Nouns fe, with Black Mold securing Mirage 13-9 after a 10-3 T-side before going on to win Dust2 13-10 after a back-and-forth that was finally broken by a leading performance from Marissa "madss" Dasta.
