M80 were shocked in the IEM Dallas OQ

M80 stumble in IEM Dallas Open Qualifier

They will miss out on IEM Dallas in May.

M80 have been forced to play through open qualifiers in North America after needing Nils "k1to" Gruhne to stand in for Ethan "reck" Serrano, as the American broke his leg and was not able to travel to Europe for BLAST Bounty Season 1.

k1to's presence meant that M80 became an EU team for that time in the eyes of the VRS (Valve Regional Standings) and will basically be starting from scratch in the Americas region, needing to play through open qualifiers to make VRS-ranked LAN events.

M80 were cruising through the IEM Dallas Open Qualifier before running into MCS.

The two teams would face off on Dust2, with an evenly-matched first half leading into an MCS stomp on their CT side, with the game ending 13-6.

MCS benefitted from a full team effort, with four players registering between 13 and 15 frags. Terry "ogura" Zhao and Brett "Scorchyy" Coolen led the way with 15 kills each, both logging a stellar 93% headshot percentage.

MCS would fall to BACKWHENEVER in the next round, 13-10 on Mirage.

The top two teams will qualify for the IEM Dallas Closed Qualifier. The full tournament information may be found here.
