Vitality reach IEM Katowice grand finals at The MongolZ's expense
Vitality have ended The MongolZ's historic run at IEM Katowice 2025 as they defeated the Mongolians by 2-0 in the first semifinals of the day. Vitality will now wait for the conclusion of Spirit v. Natus Vincere to start preparing for the best-of-five grand final tomorrow.
This semifinal was decided mainly because of Vitality's strong T-sides. The first half of Mirage was well-contested, but The MongolZ couldn't find a solution to stop Vitality's offense in the second half.
The series moved on to Nuke, which was Vitality's pick, and they comfortably won the first half 8-4 thanks to another great T-side. It looked over for The MongolZ after they lost the second pistol, however, the Mongolians showed some resilience and made Vitality fight for the final point.
Unexpectedly, ZywOo was the MVP of the match as he put out a great performance in both maps.
