Latest CS2 update accidentally adds flying ragdoll bug
An accidental byproduct of the January 7 update to Counter-Strike 2 is a bug causing player ragdolls to get absolutely launched when the player is killed.
Included in yesterday's small update was a fix to "a regression in grenade interactions with ragdolls." Though it's clear something else with ragdolls was changed, resulting in these hilarious launches.
A handful of players have reported the bug and posted gameplay clips showing off one of the more entertaining bugs in recent memory. On top of the r/GlobalOffensive subreddit, there are several clips of player ragdolls sent flying. Nearly every single one of these clips is accompanied by laughing, prompting a few commenters to remark that they wouldn't mind if they stayed the same that way.
The official CS2 account on X cheekily acknowledged the bug, reposting a clip of a ragdoll sent flying. They use the same caption for this they used for Robin "ropz" Kool and Håvard "rain" Nygaard's heroic Dust2 hold from the PW Shanghai Major, which is their current pinned post.
Sadly, since flying ragdolls could negatively impact the competitive experience, this will probably get patched sometime in the near future. Oh well.
