Report: TSM in discussions to sign an NA roster for 2025
Dust2.us has learned from multiple sources that American esports organization TSM has been in discussions with multiple NA rosters and players with the aim of signing an NA Counter-Strike 2 roster for 2025. TSM's ongoing discussions to re-enter the NA scene follows the organization's decision on December 14th to release or transfer-list the entirety of their Danish lineup while announcing that they would be evaluating their options heading into the 2025 season.
Dust2.us' sources tell the publication that TSM are still in the early stages of evaluating their options for an NA lineup while casting a wide net to hear offers from orgless players and teams. Dust2.us understands that TSM management have held talks with a number of teams including BOSS, Party Astronauts, and the FLUFFY AIMERS lineup which recently added Anthony "vanity" Malaspina and Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado.
Overall, it is understood that vanity is a priority target for TSM, with the organization discussing the potential of building an entirely new roster around the former Chaos IGL.
TSM's decision to pivot to the NA scene comes after multiple fruitless efforts to build a successful roster out in Europe, with an international roster and then a Danish roster failing to crack the HLTV Top 30 despite featuring multiple experienced players including Audric "JACKZ" Jug, Timofey "interz" Yakushin, and Valdemar "valde" Vangså over the course of its tenure in the EU scene.
TSM previously hosted an NA roster from 2016 to 2017, with the lineup featuring many future greats including Timothy "autimatic" Ta and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken before imploding amidst the 2016/2017 Professional eSports Association scandal.
With Austin, Texas set to play host to NA's first Major in seven years, while also reportedly featuring 32 teams, TSM may view a return to NA as their best chance to build a more sustainable operation in Counter-Strike 2, with the lucrative prospect of having the legacy TSM brand return to the game as a sticker after a ten-year hiatus.
