vanity is back in the NA scene heading into 2025

Breaking: vanity begins trial on FLUFFY AIMERS alongside former Chaos teammate

vanity has reunited with his former Chaos teammate on the FLUFFY AIMERS lineup.

Yesterday Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield announced his shock departure from FLUFFY AIMERS, exiting the lineup less than three weeks after joining the team at the start of December. In his announcement, Wolffe stated that the team cut him due to an "offer they’ve been proposed [that] is a difficult one to decline," while offering no further details on who or what this "offer" may be.

Dust2.us reached out to FLUFFY AIMERS IGL, Brett "brett" Rhein, who has confirmed that the "offer" is none other than former Chaos CS:GO and Cloud9 VALORANT player, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina, who is currently trialing with the FLUFFY AIMERS core as part of his plans to return to Counter-Strike 2 in 2025.

Along with the bombshell news of vanity's return to Counter-Strike, brett also confirmed to Dust2.us that the team have parted ways with Nelvin "nooz" Gonzalez and brought on Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado on trial, seeing MarKE reunite with his former Chaos and eUnited teammate.

The addition of vanity and MarKE on trial sees the FLUFFY AIMERS core add a serious amount of star power to their lineup ahead of the start of the 2025 Valve Ranking System (VRS) season, although it is important to note that the move is not yet a done deal. brett stressed to Dust2.us that the "move is not 100%" with it likely being contingent on how practice and the first results of 2025 pan out following the end of the Winter Player Break.

It is also worth stressing that while the team are still playing under FLUFFY AIMERS, their relationship with the organization is symbolic at best as the organization's owner, FishTheHusky, is still MIA leaving the team unpaid and looking at their options for next year.

However, it goes without saying that vanity's return to the CS scene is massive news as he is the most recent star to return to CS from VALORANT, returning a wealth of experience as well as a bona fide IGL to the NA scene. For the moment, brett says he and vanity are sharing IGL duties while vanity gets up to speed with the new game, however this arrangement may change after the lineup has more time together.

The FLUFFY AIMERS lineup are currently practicing with:

  • United States Jason "Jason" Garcia

  • United States Brett "brett" Rhein

  • United States Dylan "slump" Naylor

  • United States Anthony "vanity" Malaspina (Trial)

  • Mexico Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado (Trial)

  • Canada Ahmed "ayy" Mahmoud (Coach)

Tbh I thought nouns would pick vanity since they lack an IGL but I guess this is not half bad, markE and vanity are just right for big slump to grow even bigger as a future of NA awps

The team is fire but tbh Brett or jason should've been the one to get cutted instead of wolffe, he was a big firepower upgrade they let go of, I hope it was worth it and Brett could prove his rifling when not igling

If Brett isn’t calling he should’ve been cut, and Jason staying over Wolfee is criminal af
