Take Flyte release roster following Relegation failure
Take Flyte have announced the departure of their ESL Challenger League Season 48 roster following the team's demotion to ESEA Advanced Season 52 after falling in Relegation. The now former Take Flyte roster found themselves in ECL S48 Relegation after a 5-23 record in the regular season, with their only Bo1 win of note being against BOSS, with the other four wins coming against similarly struggling squads like Mythic, Limitless, and LAG.
In Relegation the team made it through Stage One after a loss to Undone and two wins against Wanted Goons. In Stage Two they started their run off with a win against LAG before facing a second loss to Undone. This set them on a collision course with Alter Iron for the final spot in ECL 49, with a one-sided 2-0 win by Alter Iron sending Take Flyte down into ESEA Advanced.
The lineup led by Sebastian "cbass" Bentancor spent two seasons in ECL under One More and then Take Flyte, having to play Relegation both seasons. During their time under Take Flyte, the team most notably claimed a top-four finish at Fragicago 2024, but otherwise struggled immensely, with the team's sole roster change where they replaced Grant "serv0" Medina with Frankie "Champ" Miranda failing to move the needle.
With the team losing organization support and being sent down to Advanced, Caleb "jchancE" Davis told Dust2.us it is unlikely the lineup will stick together, with jchancE prioritizing new offers by ECL teams.
Take Flyte consisted of:
-
Kevin "Grave" Le
-
Caleb "jchancE" Davis
-
Noah "z0mb1e" Velez
-
Sebastian "cbass" Bentancor
-
Frankie "Champ" Miranda
-
Grant "serv0" Medina (Inactive)
It remains to be seen if the Take Flyte will sign a new roster for 2025, but with the organization's overall level of involvement in the scene it is very likely they will return in short order.
