Breaking: Nouns part ways with cJ dA K1nG
Nouns have announced the departure of Christopher "cJ dA K1nG" Jones from the team's ranks, seeing the player exit the organization after more than two years on the lineup. Nouns' decision to part ways with the 27-year-old rifler marks the end of an era for the organization as cJ dA K1nG was the sole remaining member from the organization's first months in CS, joining all the way back in November 2022 to replace Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott ahead of his move to Evil Geniuses Black.
During his more than two year with Nouns, cJ dA K1nG weathered multiple storms and roster changes within the DAO-backed roster, working with no less than four IGLs and a half dozen different players as Nouns navigated the final months of CS:GO and tumultuous beginnings of CS2. The key to cJ dA K1nG's longevity on the Nouns' roster was seemingly his calm demeanor and ability to flexible, with William "RUSH" Wierzba describing cJ dA K1nG as a "soldier" to Dust2.us in a September 2024 interview.
However, this willingness to be a soldier has seemingly resulted in cJ dA K1nG lagging behind his teammates in the fragging department, with the player posting a middling 0.99 rating over 66 maps in the past three months. With the team recently parting ways with Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly and losing Jeorge to NRG, the team may be looking for a more consistent source of firepower amidst a complete rebuild featuring Nick "nicx" Lee and Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell as potential long-term additions.
cJ dA K1nG told Dust2.us that he has admittedly not being playing as well recently, going on to say that with Nouns looking to make big changes they felt getting rid of him was the appropriate change.
Dust2.us also reached out to RUSH, Eric "adreN" Hoag, and Nouns management for comment but did not hear back ahead of publication.
With cJ dA K1nG exiting the lineup, Nouns currently consist of:
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
-
William "RUSH" Wierzba
-
Nick "nicx" Lee (Trial)
-
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell (Trial)
-
Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)
