Media: StarLadder set to host 2nd Major of 2025 in Central European capital
According to a report by Alejandro "anonimotum" Gomis of Sheep Esports, StarLadder has reportedly decided to host the second Major of 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, seeing the Major head back to Europe and to the Central European capital city for the first time.
While the report is short on details, we already know the date of the second Major of 2025 thanks to announcing the dates well in advance, with the reportedly 32-team event set to run from December 1st and December 14th, according to HLTV.
A Major in Budapest would be the first Major in Central Europe since the Berlin Major in 2019, which was coincidentally also hosted by StarLadder. Outside of Berlin, Central Europe has played host to a number of Majors in Kraków, Cologne, Cluj-Napoca, and Katowice.
One thing worth noting is that should StarLadder confirm their plans to host the Major in Budapest, it would mean two events in the Hungarian capital in short order as the city is set to play host to StarLadder StarSeries Season 20 in mid-September. Perhaps this event will serve as a trial run for the Major, however two S-tier events in the country would be quite exciting for a country that has only had the V4 Future Sports Festival to call its own.
