Chaos at IESF 2024 as servers struggle, remaining matches pushed to tomorrow

Things are not going to plan for IESF in Riyadh.

Dust2.us has learned from sources with knowledge of the IESF 2024 men's CS2 tournament that all remaining matches for day one of the $240,000 event have been pushed back to tomorrow due to server issues leading to unplayable conditions and protests from at least one team.

According to our sources, the tournament has experienced multiple delays throughout day one due to extensive issues with the servers at the Saudi event, leading to high levels of packet loss during matches. These issues had culminated in the event falling three hours behind schedule, which would have seen Team USA start their first match of the day at midnight local time and play their final Bo1 at 3am.

While the tournament did manage to complete twelve matches before canceling the remainder of day one, day two will very likely have a tight schedule as the TO aims to get back on track. It is also an early black eye in the main event for an event that has already struggled with the cancelation of multiple LAN qualifiers and rumors of the whole tournament almost being canceled by Saudi Prince Faisal just weeks before the event was set to start in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
