Tsunami organization relaunched after split with DETONATE

Tsunami has returned after six months.

On October 18th, Tsunami Esports announced its return to the NA esports scene, seeing the Atlanta-based esports organization return six months after merging with DETONATE in February 2024. The relaunch of Tsunami comes after the organization's founder, Shilen "K1NG" Patel, stepped down from DETONATE on September 10th.

In its original iteration Tsunami hosted a number of lineups at the ESEA Advanced level in 2023 and an ESL Impact squad under the Tsunami Sirens tag. After merging with DETONATE, the combined organization fielded two CS2 rosters at the ESEA Advanced level to mixed success. Dust2.us understands that K1NG split with DETONATE's owner, Levoski Brown, on good terms due to creative and strategic differences on how best to operate an esports organization in the NA space.

Alongside relaunching the organization on X, the Tsunami organization recently sponsored Fisher Esports for Fragadelphia x Tap 2, with the team playing under the Fisher Tsunami moniker. With the team overcoming the odds to win the FRAG LAN, Tsunami's job is now to find a roster to sign long-term as they re-enter the ever-changing NA CS2 landscape.
