rigoN: "It was always a dream to play with tabseN"

The self-proclaimed "RMR specialist" is ready to get warmed up for Shanghai.

Prior to the start of ESL Challenger Atlanta, Swiss player Rigon "rigoN" Gashi spoke to Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore about adapting to a new BIG environment, why the Guild Eagles project couldn't live up to the hype, and preparing for the Perfect World Shanghai Major European RMRs.

Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz is one of the big voices on the team and a superstar of the German scene. What’s it like working with him?

It was always a dream to play with tabseN. Playing with him is really nice; he’s a hard worker and he helps me inside the game and outside the game. In these three months I’ve learned a lot from him.

What prompted you to move from the German scene to the Kosovo scene?

It really didn’t work out for me in the German scene because I had to work back then, and I couldn’t go full-time playing CS. So I finished my education, and after that I qualified for FPL. My dream was to qualify for FPL because it gave people structure. Flatron "juanflatroo" Halimi and Dionis "sinnopsyy" Budeci qualified as well, and I got to join them on Team BLINK. Everything went up.

Unfortunately, the Guild Eagles project did not last. Why did the team not live up to the expectations set by BNE, and were there ever roster changes in consideration?

I would have to say it had to do with a lot of background stuff happening. Replacing someone was never in our ideology to be honest, but the background stuff got so much into my head and the others’ heads that the chemistry wasn’t good anymore. It was our decision to split up and look for whatever was best for each other.

This event comes right before the Shanghai RMRs. How do you feel about them coming up?

I feel great! I think I’m an RMR specialist; I’ve done this multiple times. We qualified online pretty easily I would say. I mean, we had that one loss in the first game to Passion UA, but otherwise, I feel really comfortable.

rigoN and BIG will take on Brazilian side ODDIK in the first round of Group B on Friday 01:20PM.
