Valve developer promises "new network stuff" shipping soon
Network issues have been on top of the list of concerns that Counter-Strike 2 players want Valve to address, but it appears that some response is finally set to ship soon.
In a reply to another user on X, Valve engineer Fletcher Dunn posted that he has "some new network stuff that will be shipping in CS soon."
After that reply received a lot of attention from the CS community, Dunn quickly responded in order to temper expectations, telling players not to get excited and reminding them that he's only "a tiny part of this great team."
While the introduction of sub-tick servers for CS2 was first welcomed by players at launch, frustrations began to mount over time as those with higher ping noticed significant negative impacts while playing.
Players have reported more instances of being killed after retreating to cover or being killed by players as they're peeking. Overall though, players are just hoping for some sort of improvement to the game's performance from Valve.
