A good start to the new roster

What to expect from Liquid v. Virtus.pro

Liquid has been finding some good form, lately.

After narrowly surviving a Nuke comeback, Liquid managed to beat ENCE 2-0 with relative ease on Anubis. After that win, they are now facing Virtus.pro who defeated RED Canids with no difficult at all. VP have been going through an inconsistent patch, can Liquid take advantage of that and lock-in a playoff spot?

Getting there game by game

Liquid's 2024 hasn't been short of problems, with roster changes, bad results, and some role adaptations, consequently resulting in criticism from the community. But it now seems the team has found its stride, boasting a 78.6% win-rate throughout the last three months. There are still some flaws that are getting exposed by the opponents, but Liquid have been looking stronger and stronger with each game.

  • ultimate has proven he can hang with the top boys

  • Twistzz is showing his firepower all while IGLing

  • NAF and jks have been solid

  • YEKINDAR is yet to find his form from the CS:GO days

Is Jame time overrated?

Virtus.pro, after winning the IEM Rio Major 2022 under the Outsiders banner, hasn't been able to replicate that same formula, despite the gameplan being the same. Sure the team won more events after that, but since the transition into CS2 it seems like "Jame time" is no longer good enough to carry the squad to event wins. That is proven by recent results that show that VP is far from reaching the top step of big events.

  • Jame has been average in the last few months

  • electroNic hasn't been able to turn things around

  • Is a new coach really the solution?

Previous Matchups

These two squads faced off recently, during the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, where Liquid took the 2-0 win after a 22-20 Ancient win and a 13-6 Dust2 beating.

Likely Vetoes

  • Virtus.pro ban Nuke

  • Liquid ban Vertigo

  • Virtus.pro pick Mirage

  • Liquid pick Ancient

  • Anubis will be the decider
