11:51PM - Mythic push past Homyno
After much back and forth, Mythic have ended the day with a 2-1 win over Homyno to stay alive in the qualifier after a poor start to the day against Wildcard. The stream team will live to fight another day with Dust2.us wishing them a good night and a strong alarm.
11:40PM - Mythic force overtime
Mythic have come back from a 12-20 deficit to force overtime, with the late-night series between the stream team and Homyno going the distance as both teams battle to avoid elimination.
11:22PM - Mythic keep it close on map three
The series between Mythic and Homyno is nearing its final chapter, with the stream team keeping map three close with the French Canadian team. The scoreline is currently 9-6 in favor of Homyno.
10:57PM - Akimbo 2-0 Limitless
Another match has ended in quick succession, with Akimbo felling Limitless after a one-sided map one and a close second map. The result will likely be disappointing for Limitless as they had the chance to field their full roster, albeit to little effect.
10:54PM - LAG fall to Take Flyte
In the second elimination game of the night, Take Flyte have taken down LAG handing the squad a surprise elimination quite early in the tournament. Take Flyte will now continue to day two despite having to forfeit their first match.
10:48PM - FLUFFY AIMERS eliminate Phoenix
Phoenix are the first domino to fall in the Closed Qualifier as FLUFFY AIEMRS have knocked them out with a 2-0 victory where Phoenix struggled to mount serious opposition, failing to find double digits on either Dust2 nor Ancient.
10:28PM - Mythic rebound, Akimbo make a stand
Mythic have come all the way back as they are about to tie up the series with some lopsided home maps. Akimbo, meanwhile are making their stand and trying to close out the series quickly.
FLUFFY AIMERS are doing their best too make sure they can progress to the next round, while Take Flyte is dangerously close to making this a 2-0.
10:10PM - It's getting started, it's hot
Mythic are up 3-1 so far as they look to rebound after a tough first map loss, while Akimbo are just not finding their groove right now on Mirage. They're down 0-5 as they look to secure a 2-0 victory.
10:02PM - FLUFFY AIMERS getting jiggy
And now every match will now head to the second map as FLUFFY AIMERS have pulled through with a win of their own against Phoenix. It's a 13-8 victory for them as the rest of the nation heads into some map twos.
09:57PM - Take Flyte come through
COME ON DOWN TAKE FLYTE! They're the third team to take the first win in the elimination series as they put LAG on the back burner so far. It's been tight so far towards the end, but the squad have bounced back from some travel issues as they look to stay alive for tomorrow.
09:47PM - Akimbo pull through, two others in tight series
Akimbo have pulled out victorious in their first map over Limitless as they dominated 13-5. Phoenix and FA are neck and neck on Dust2, while Take Flyte is pulling away from LAG.
09:35PM - Homyno stomp Mythic in series opener
Mythic are having a rough go of things ahead Homyno on Mirage as the team are currently down 11-1 and risk dropping another map in the qualifier in a non-competitive fashion.
09:14PM - NRG through to 2-0 bracket
NRG bested Elevate 13-8 on Mirage to join the 2-0 bracket where they will aim for a 2-0 spot straight through to the RMR tomorrow.
09:11PM - Final quartet of matches set to start
The final four matches of the next are set to start in short order, with LAG taking on Take Flyte, Mythic playing Homyno, Akimbo facing down Limitless, and FLUFFY AIMERS playing Phoenix.
09:03PM - Elevate tie it up against NRG
Elevate v. NRG is becoming a close affair as it is currently tied up 7-7 as Mirage has become a close affair as both teams are looking to head into the coveted 2-0 group in round three.
08:50PM - Wildcard take down E-Xolos
Unsurprisingly, Wildcard have taken down E-Xolos LAZER 13-5 on Ancient, securing a 2-0 berth heading into tomorrow.
08:44PM - Wildcard find double digits versus E-Xolos
Wildcard are up 10-5 against the Brazilian squad and look confident to take Ancient and secure a 2-0 spot in the swiss bracket.
08:34PM - NRG head into battle against Elevate
Another key 1-0 match has started, with NRG facing off against Elevate on Mirage.
08:31PM - Nouns take down Party Astronauts
In a close match sent to overtime, Nouns claimed a close win over Party Astronauts with a 16-13 scoreline. Nouns will now head into the 2-0 group with BOSS.
08:28PM - Wildcard v. E-Xolos LAZER get underway
Another key match, Wildcard v. E-Xolos LAZER has now started, with Ancient being the battleground for the 1-0 match.
08:04PM - BOSS!!!!!!!
They've done it! They've upset the Brazilian heavyweights! The unsigned American organization has made an absolute statement with a tremendous win over the Copenhagen Major attending outfit. BOSS heads to the 2-0 bracket and is just one BO3 away from going to Shanghai!
Meanwhile... Nouns and PA are headed into overtime. It looked like Nouns had this game set up for them, but PA won't go down without a fight.
08:04PM - BOSS?!?!?!
Oh my god, are they actually going to do it? BOSS are about to pull away with a victory over Legacy which would be a massive win for the squad in their chances of making it to the RMR.
Meanwhile Nouns are also knocking on the doorstep and hoping to close down their match against Party Astronauts.
07:55PM - Pulling away
Nouns are finally making some real space between themselves and Party Astronauts. They're inching closer to the finish line while keeping their opponent at bay. Meanwhile Legacy and BOSS couldn't be closer. They're still neck and neck and things remain highly competitive.
07:47PM - Tight at Half Time
It was all close at 7-5 at the halves with Legacy leading and Nouns also having the advantage. Things are getting closer and closer as these 1-0 games mean absolutely everything for the elimination and qualification scenarios.
07:40PM - Nouns pull ahead
The NFT/DAO squad are in roaring form as they've held Party Astronauts back at just four rounds as they finally take a considerable advantage. They're up to seven rounds now as they look to make it even more. Meanwhile, BOSS and Legacy are still neck and neck with Legacy taking a slight 6-5 lead.
07:32PM - Things are getting even...
Legacy and BOSS are all tied up on Anubis with each side putting together some competent rounds. Meanwhile, Nouns is looking to hold off a surging Party Astronauts offensive on Mirage.

After a prefect 12-0 start, E-Xolos LAZER have started letting unlosable map slip away from them as their insistence on running a default over and over again has allowed Homyno to creep back into Nuke.

Unfortunately due to traffic on the way home from work, Caleb "jchancE" Davis was unable to make Take Flyte's match versus BOSS, giving the latter team a forfeit win.

The Brazilian squad has gotten off to a strong 7-0 start versus Homyno on Nuke.
05:17PM - Exciting matches ahead
Based on the swiss system, heading into round two we have some real banger matches ahead, with NRG and Elevate playing each other while Nouns will play PA next, with both being Bo1.

In a largely one-sided match on Ancient, Elevate have taken their first map of the event against Limitless.

Party Astronauts have closed out Nuke 13-8 in a far closer match against Phoenix than many would've expected.

After losing seven rounds in a row, PA finally found one on their T-side and are now on match point.
04:46PM - Limitless keep things competitive
Elevate are up 8-4 in their match against Limitless, with the latter team managing to keep things competitive as they now switch sides.

After being dominated 1-11 by PA on their CT-side, Phoenix are working to fight back with the team taking the first five rounds on their own T-side to bring the score to 11-6.

PA have started off in a dominant fashion against Phoenix, and are currently up 7-1.

In a somewhat rocky match from NRG things were far closer than many would've expected. However, NRG kept things together and claimed a 13-10 win on Dust2.

In a fairly comprehensive win for Nouns, the team took down FLUFFY AIMERS 13-6 on Ancient to secure their first win of the qualifier.

Super stand-in Marco "Pol0" Hernandez went huge for his team with a 1v2 clutch on Dust2 long to bring the scoreline to 10-11 in NRG's favor.

Akimbo has continued to impress as they are now up 9-7 versus NRG in a close match on Dust2.

NRG claimed a narrow 7-5 lead on their T-side while Akimbo have managed to keep things highly competitive.

Legacy have taken the first win of the Closed Qualifier with an easy 13-3 win over LAG on Ancient.

Legacy ended their T-side up 9-3 after dominating LAG for much of the first half on Ancient before LAG found the final round of the half.

The game is live, Mythic are locked in, and freakazoid almost secured the opening round pistol. It came down to a 1v1 with the sleepy rifler coming within inches of pulling it out for his squad.

It's easy for the Brazilians as they continue to dominate on their T-side of Ancient. They're currently 5-2 up against LAG in the opening round.
02:30PM - freakazoid finally answers
In the continuation of an embarrassing tradition for North America, the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR NA Closed Qualifier has began today with a player missing the start of their opening match as Mythic's Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir was nowhere to be seen for Mythic's opening match against Wildcard, with Erik "fl0M" Flom and Austin "Cooper" Abadir speculating the 31-year-old former pro was still asleep until minutes ago.
As of now, he is trying to log into the server and navigate the Akros Anti-Cheat. Let's see if he can beat the technical timeout countdown in order to start this game on time...
