Akimbo star to miss RMR NA Closed Qualifier
The Mongolian-majority Akimbo lineup have revealed to Dust2.us that they are set to head into the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR NA Closed Qualifier without one of their most-experienced pieces. Joey "hyza" Cornelius told Dust2.us that Kamron "kmrn" Manii will miss the important qualifier today due to a family emergency, with Marco "Pol0" Hernandez set to stand-in for the squad.
The loss of kmrn comes as a hard blow to the Akimbo lineup after fighting with Valve to receive special permission to play in the NA Closed Qualifier despite featuring a majority-Mongolian lineup.
Akimbo previously registered Pol0 with Perfect World as their fifth for the event, raising eyebrows about a possible roster change, however it is now clear the move is temporary, albeit at an extremely unfortunate time. The loss of kmrn will further complicate an already difficult road for the ESEA Advanced team as they are set to face NRG in their opening match. Remember that with two losses spelling elimination, facing NRG first is close to a worst-case scenario for Akimbo especially as they bed in a new player.
With kmrn missing the qualifier, Akimbo will play with:
-
Bishrel "N20AmZ" Tamir
-
Ochirbileg "obi" Shinebaatar
-
Andrey "Laxiee" Maks
-
Joey "hyza" Cornelius
-
Marco "Pol0" Hernandez (Stand-in)
-
Taggert "taggy" Baker (Registered Substitute)
Akimbo will head into battle against NRG today at 02:00PM
