Perfect World announce Shanghai Major RMR roster lock dates

Perfect World have announced a series of three key updates for the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major RMRs, with the tournament organizer confirming when teams will need to confirm their rosters ahead of the three qualifiers in Shanghai, China. These dates have been set in stone by Perfect World in order to ensure teams will have a hard cutoff to start acquiring visas for their players, coaches, and subs.

The first of these dates is set for September 7th, 2024, with team needing to submit their starting lineup to Perfect World. while they will need to submit the list of their substitutes by September 22nd. Following this, Valve will release one final Valve Regional Standings (VRS) update that will be used to seed the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific RMRs.

The cutoff date for the RMRs is an attempt by Perfect World to avoid teams having to drop out at the most moment in an esports landscape that has seen plenty of visa issues over the past two years and beyond.

The Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR NA Closed Qualifier is set to start on August 26th while the Americas RMR will begin on November 12th.
