NRG secure IEM Rio NA CQ spot after FF win
It was an early night for NA and a nice little victory for NRG. They were able to claim the first opening spot in the IEM Rio 2024 North American Closed Qualifier without even finishing their match against Party Astronauts.
The re-imagined NRG side has found a new light under the leadership of Nick "nitr0" Cannella, and his services have already paid the organization back tremendously in his short time with the squad.
Last night's qualifier victory saw NRG secure dominant wins over InControl and LAG, with the grand final seeing them win Party Astronaut's pick of Ancient 13-1 before the unsigned organization had to leave for their CCT playoff match against Phoenix, the former Perseverance squad.
While Party Astronauts would win their playoff match last night, they will have another shot to qualify for the IEM Rio 2024 North American Closed Qualifier and will certainly be the favorites.
The lineup would secure two, tight 13-11 wins over E-Xolos LAZER and Elevate, respectively, as they made it to the Grand Finals.
NRG now have a shot at attending IEM Rio 2024, but they will need to get through Liquid and Legacy who have already been invited to the Closed Qualifier.
