OhnePixel signs lineup aiming to compete in Asia-Pacific RMR qualifiers
While the Major RMR invitations for Europe and the Americas have already been decided, the case for Asia is still just a bit up in the air as many of the sub-regions lack enough teams to fill all of the spots via the Valve Ranking System (VRS). With that in mind, well-known streamer and case opener OhnePixel, also known publicly by his first name, Mark, has assembled a team of known faces to attempt to qualify for the Asia-Pacific RMR through the Middle East Qualifiers.
Israeli players Tal "meztal" Hahiashvili and Meytar "AMSALEM" Amsalem, as well as French-Morrocan player Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss, make up the necessary core of Middle Eastern and North African players necessary to compete in the regional open qualifiers. The duo will be joined by Ukrainian duo Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletnjuk and Vladyslav "Kvem" Korolj, the former of which was recently part of Monte and stood in for HEROIC.
Asia is one of the only regions still to have open qualifiers as many of the sub-regions that make up the Asia-Pacific region lack enough active teams and played matches for the VRS to fill the necessary number of invites. With this, there lies opportunity for a number of squads like JiJieHao and TALON, who would otherwise miss the Major, to attempt to qualify to the Asia-Pacific RMR through an open qualifier.
Dust2.dk reports that ohnePixel's investment will function as a sponsorship that supports the team throughout their Major campaign.
