What to expect from Complexity v. Virtus.Pro
Complexity have successfully battled their way through the Play-In stage of IEM Cologne, defeating ALTERNATE aTTaX and Eternal Fire en route. Now, they meet Virtus.Pro, who had no such arduous journey to the event and were invited courtesy of their high ranking. It hasn't been the easiest journey for the American squad, but it doesn't matter how you got there, just that you got there.
Complexity, a struggle of identities
Virtus.Pro are a good team, but I'd wager to say that this matchup does not depend on their performance. The outcome of this game relies entirely upon which Complexity we see in the server. Will it be the version with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski playing like the top five rifler that he is and Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli hitting the highs that we know he can hit? Or will it be the version that gets down in the dumps, feeding off a cycle of negativity that causes them to lose with 12 rounds on the board all too often?

EliGE is, like expected, in fantastic form, with a 1.31 rating through the Play-In
-
Historically, games between Complexity and VP are usually close
-
Grim had a decent Play-In with a 1.15 rating
The superteam that cannot materialize
Virtus Pro are, by all accounts, a superteam. But, their results do not reflect it. Sure, they got invited to the main event while Complexity had to slog through the Play-In, but the best results of this roster have been semifinal exits. Likely attempting to peak at Cologne, it's time to see if plow has gas in the tank.
-
electroNic has had a dog of a time, with a 1.01 rating in the past three months
-
Jame is the only recurring positive player, but a good deal of that comes from his abundance of saves. Is it actually helping his team win?
-
fame is not the fragger that was promised, pulling a 0.97 rating over the past three months
Previous Matchups
We should expect a banger of a match between these two considering their previous matchups. At EWC, VP came out ahead in two maps, and fairly dominantly at that. However, the time before at EPL S19, Complexity pulled out an equally dominant two map victory. Finally, even before those two, their Katowice showdown resulted in four overtimes over three maps, a barn burner and a complete must watch.
Based on previous results, this game could be supremely dominant in either team's direction, or a complete slugfest taking over 80 rounds. You have to tune in to find out!
Likely Vetoes
I don't think Complexity will let Vertigo go banned this time around. They messed around with Anubis and found out, losing the map 13-9. More than likely, I think Complexity bring Vertigo back into their lineup and VP rock with another Dust2. I think this has a strong possibility to go three maps.
