Complexity survive in BLAST with beleaguered win
Complexity struggled to get a win today over OG in a back-and-forth series that saw the Americans steal away a map pick but lose their own comfort pick of Vertigo.
OG were already weakened as the organization searches for a permanent fifth with Thomas "Thomas" Utting standing-in for the squad as Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko transferred to Cloud9 over the summer break.
The series started on OG's pick of Ancient with the European side jumping out to a dominant 9-3 half lead. Things looked bleak for Complexity, but the Americans started to find their mojo as bit by bit they crawled back to secure a 13-11 win in regulation to the surprise of many.
With Vertigo coming up next, it looked like Complexity looked they could simply walk away with a clear 2-0 win. At first things went swimmingly as the Americans secured a 7-5 T-side half, but it was their CT-side that let them down. OG overpowered the Americans to secure a 8-2 comeback half and forced a third map of Anubis.
Complexity struggled to get themselves going on Anubis as they quickly went down 2-5, but somehow found their winning ways on their T-side as they turned it around to secure a 13-7 win and a 2-1 series victory.
Complexity will now play HEROIC in a rematch to see if they will qualify for the Fall Finals.
