Esportal and Inferno Online to temporarily continue operations

It's held up to see if it has business value.

Peter Eriksson, the court-appointed bankruptcy trustee for Esportsal Group AB has decided that Esportal and Inferno Online will continue to operate for the next month.

The makers of Esportal announced their bankruptcy last week with concerns about the future of the matchmaking platform.

"The board can ascertain that the necessary financing to continue the transformation cannot be secured, which means that within a short time the group will not have coverage for its short-term working capital needs, while at the same time the company's total debt side is assessed as long-term unsustainable - and therefore the group as a whole is in an insolvency situation that is not assessed as temporary," said the press release on the company website.

Now, the company will continue through at least August 24th while the trustee assesses the value of the platform and the various assets ahead of a possible business transfer.

"Servers will also remain open, and most planned activities will continue without interruption," said a statement on the website.
