Fragadelphia announce Fragicago 2024

Fragadelphia is heading back to the fan-favorite Scrims Esports Gaming Center.

Last night, Fragadelphia announced the latest stop on their LAN circuit, with NA's premier TO returning to Chicago for Fragicago 2024. This iteration of the fan-favorite stop on the tour is set to run from September 6th to the 8th and will feature a prizepool of up to $10,000. Fragicago 2024 is Fragadelphia's fifth event of 2024 and their fourth in FRAG's history to be held at the Scrims Esports Gaming Center in Lisle, Illinois.

The previous iterations of FRAG's Chicago event have been massive successes, with the previous Fragicago selling out in a rapid fashion. The previous event at the Scrims Esports Gaming Center was won by Badass over Unjustified in an exciting finals that capped off a thrilling as part of Fragadelphia's event to the Counter-Strike scene and their debut in CS2 after going independent from Nerd Street.

Teams interested in signing up may do so here, with an impressive 16 teams already signed up for the event less than 24 hours after it was announced. Teams headlining the list right now include Perseverance, Elevate, LAG, Revenge Nation, and Akimbo, so you don't want to miss it!

17+ years ago NAcs was developed and divided both types of CS also paired Nicely against EU at ESWC and CPL events. 80,000 Dollar ESEA LAN Tournaments were alive and well with Swag FRoD Ksharp and other superstars. Everything is Stagnant atm other than M80 and coL but there’s no Rivalry or BIG Tournament wins from NA etc

I was confused by the east coast / west coast reference as neither team was really a west coast team.

Fun fact I played against Swag in his first ESEA match.

Really cool to see some old heads and that is pretty neat. I attended a few CPLs and Bootcamp at LG with a lot of the older coL/3D/U5 guys and got to experience a few upsets against 1.6 EU teams. Also played local LANs against FroD at Florida which sadly events like those or the old ESEA LAN tournaments is what’s missing in NA it’s not lack of players or skills imo. Good talk man ttyl

LG was Texas, right? I was on the east coast so I was hitting up web2zone, xitram, and holodek to name a few.

The scene is for sure missing it but also the climate allowed for it as lan centers were somewhat profitable at the time as not everyone had a good computer or internet. I live in New Jersey and while there are 4 lan centers (one of them being one of the biggest in the country.. helix eSports.. don't get why no one tries to do CS events there) they are all in an area that has a very dense South Korean population where the business model still works very well as they have their hardcore single gamers that stay all day and also the BIG groups that come for like an hour or 2 to play and laugh together.

Growing up in New Jersey there were lan centers from North Jersey all the way to South Jersey.

Yes it was in Houston Texas and held 2 week bootcamps before Winter:Summer Dallas CPL

So many great teams from Europe and NA spent quality time in such tight confines it was practically like a CS sweatshop (In a great way)

From what you’ve explained the next version of Lunatic-hai is waiting to be spawned at Helix LAN Center bc it really does sound like a serviceable and realistic option to host LANs

I remember playing many Florida LANs against FroD and it would normally be a center like Helix you described and all attending teams would end up paying 25+ dollars per player 125 per team. At the end the 1st second or 3rd got relatively decent LAN experience and some decent pocket money

Back when mIRC and talent seeking could put together a healthy balance of CAL/CEVOm/sp experienced ringers/pugs and dominate lol

Good talk man I think I’ve seen your account on HLTV it’s nice to meet genuine old heads, especially when it involves something like Mythic coL Cup Tournaments and Nostalgia ttyl
