Official: skullz, Lucid join FURIA, KSCERATO & yuurih renew
FURIA have officially announced the addition of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros to their starting lineup as the permanent replacement for Andrei "arT" Piovezan.
"Skullz is a guy we have wanted for a while," said Head of Esports Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira about their newest Brazilian. "He plays a crucial in-game role that's very important and hard to find, which is the anchor."
Additionally, the organization announced the addition of American Hunter "Lucid" Tucker as the team's assistant coach alongside Viacheslav "innersh1ne" Britvin. The two assistant coaches will be the supporting staff to Sid "sidde" Macedo, who will be the organization's newest head coach. sidde replaces guerri as the primary tactician of the squad after the long-time head coach stepped down to take a new role within the FURIA organization.
"I believe a strong team needs a strong staff," explained guerri. "[Lucid] is American and also worked with FaZe in a more analytical and technical role. I had several meetings with him as well, and it was great; we talked a lot about strategy and our approach."
Furthermore, FURIA announced that both Yuri "yuurih" Boian and Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato have signed new, three-year contract extensions with the organization after their original five-year contracts expired this summer.
"They're not leaving FURIA." guerri triumphantly explained. "They started all of this with us; they are FURIA. They will spend another 3 years with us."
FURIA have had to deal with speculation surrounding KSCERATO for the last year as he has been constant targeted by Liquid. The Brazilian has dominated the world stage and is considered one of the strongest riflers from the Americas. With a new deal, FURIA is hoping to ward off any future suitors.
Finally, guerri hinted that there are potentially further additions to the Counter-Strike division and that fans should "expect more news in the future".
