Liquid got their man

Report: jks highlights new Liquid roster for BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Liquid will look to make splash with their new roster.

BLAST's deadline for the upcoming 2024 BLAST Premier Fall Groups has come and both Liquid and Cloud9 among other teams have registered new lineups for the competition.

Rumors regarding Liquid have largely been kept quiet, barring the departures of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros and Casper "cadiaN" Møller which dominated headlines over the last few weeks. Sources have told HLTV and Dust2.us that Liquid has registered Australian Justin "jks" Savage, Pole Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak, and as their new coach, Dane Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg. The news follows the report that the Brazilian anchor would be joining FURIA for the Esports World Cup later this month.

The three new arrivals will be joining the current Liquid core of Keith "NAF" Markovic, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis. As Liquid will maintain the core of their lineup, the organization will likely retain the invitation for the Americas RMR.

The roster marries Liquid's recent philosophies for roster building, with ultimate being akin to the team's earlier gamble on inexperienced pieces like Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov and Robert "Patsi" Isyanov, while jks is clearly the star signing compoarable to when Liquid signed Twistzz at the end of 2023.

As for mithR, he is set to join Liquid after stints with Apeks, MOUZ, and Renegades over the course of the past four years. While Liquid will be his largest role to date, mithR's track record with international rosters on MOUZ and Apeks make him well-suited for the role as Liquid look to marry multiple playstyles and philosophies of the game.

Cloud9 will be in a different position from Liquid as they have signed three new players to their starting lineup. Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov, Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko, and Timofey "interz" Yakushin will be playing for the American organization during the Fall Groups later this August. The organization underwent a massive shuffle as they benched Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy and Abay "HObbit" Khassenov, while Denis "electroNic" Sharipov moved to Virtus.pro.

For other, international rosters, Dust2.us understands that Thomas "Thomas" Utting has joined OG while former Bad News Eagles rifler Rigon "rigoN" Gashi has joined BIG for the upcoming BLAST event.

Liquid will use the following lineup for BLAST:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis

  • Canada Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken

  • Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak

  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage

  • Denmark Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg (Coach)
