Esports World Cup rosters lock today as shuffle rages
The Esports World Cup kicks off in just two weeks and teams are required to submit their rosters later this afternoon for the July event. While several teams have already set their rosters, a few organizations remain in limbo about their squads.
Organizations like Complexity, FaZe, and Vitality remain solid in their current roster formulation as they head into today since they have not been involved in any of the craziness of the summer shuffle season. As for FURIA and M80, they are the two notable Americas squads everyone is looking at.
M80 has not yet announced its replacement for Guatemalan Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, who departed for G2 for an astronomical sum. FURIA has been unable to find a full-time fifth following the departure of Andrei "arT" Piovezan. In recent weeks, the Brazilians have been linked with a move for Liquid's Felipe "skullz" Medeiros.
Dust2.us understands that M80 has been in hot pursuit of a final replacement, but their new fifth has yet to be announced.
The other organization that will need to find a suitable replacement soon is G2, which officially announced the departure of long-time IGL Ramus "HooXi" Nielsen earlier today.
