MIBR set to play ESEA Advanced Season 39
MIBR is set to join the list of Brazilian squads looking to find success in North America, having been invited to play ESEA Advanced Season 39 today.
Their pivot to North America comes after MIBR have struggled to find success in recent months while spending their time split between Brazil and Europe.
As previously mentioned, this new iteration of MIBR has largely been a disappointment, with its most recent blunder seeing the team miss out on PGL Stockholm 2021 after falling to Sharks in the final South American RMR event. This failure prompted a massive overhaul of the team, with long-time members Gustavo "yel" Knittel and Bruno "shz" Martinelli being moved to the bench.
In their place, MIBR acquired a trio of players from domestic upstarts Bravos: Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato, Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia, and Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian. The latter player is seemingly set to play in place of Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes as he will remain in Brazil at this time for an undisclosed reason according to Milan "Striker" Švejda of HLTV.org.
Interestingly, chelo is nowhere to be seen on MIBR's ESEA roster suggesting he might not be playing with the team for some time. While it may be an accidental omission, MIBR made the choice to add MIBR Academy player Breno "brnz4n" Poletto, former FURIA fe coach Fernando "nandinnn" Serikawa, and (for some reason) Gamers Club financial analyst Caio Pardo ahead of chelo.
MIBR's roster consists of:
- Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes (Not on ESEA roster)
- Ricardo "boltz" Prass
- Raphael "exit" Lacerda
- Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato
- Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia
- Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian
- Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci (Coach)
- Renato "nak" Nakano (Assistant Coach)
MIBR await the start of ESEA Advanced Season 39 on October 22nd.
