What to expect from Liquid v. FURIA

Well, well, well, if it isn't Liquid vs FURIA, two of the best Americas teams for the past what seems like decades. Surprisingly this isn't an RMR or BLAST Showdown, this is a European event! Who will get bragging rights?

Liquid's form

Liquid look... alright, I guess. Missing the Major was absolutely disastrous. But that's old news. 5-6th at Chengdu is a strange result. It's not the world-beating result that this lineup was put together to achieve. Nonetheless, they only lost to the eventual winners, the best CS2 team we've ever seen, FaZe Clan. Given Liquid's inability to win qualifiers against their domestic rival M80, EPL and Dallas will be a good litmus test for this roster.

• YEKINDAR looks better, but he still could progress

• cadiaN's individual form is coming out but still leaves some to be desired on the calling front

• NAF and Twistzz continue to be the stars, practically the sole reason this team wins tough matches (1.25 and 1.23 rating since the start of the year, respectively)

FURIA look awful. Rebuild stage initiated

FURIA didn't need any more prodding. They blew it all up. Andrei "arT" Piovezan, longtime IGL, is out. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo will have unbridled reign of the roster now, especially so with Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira transitioning to an administrative role. Don't expect much out of this FURIA, since Kayke "kye" Bertolucci's promotion is likely just a pit stop until FURIA pony up the cash for a replacement.
