Report: CLASIA poised for return with Nouns
According to multiple sources with knowledge of the changes, Dust2.us understands that Nouns are set to replace Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado with Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney, with the Mexican veteran leaving Nouns after 14 months with the organization. The addition of CLASIA sees the player return to activity five months after leaving MIGHT to take a break from competition.
CLASIA is no stranger to the Nouns lineup, having previously played with Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly, Christopher "cJ" Jones, and Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott on ChocoCheck and Gaimin Gladiators. His first tenure with the core came to a fractious end in 2022, with both sides leveling claims of unprofessional behavior to Dust2.us and disputing whether CLASIA was kicked or left of his own volition.
Since then, it appears there has been some mending of bridges as CLASIA looks to return with Nouns to the top tier of NA competition after some time out of the limelight. With CLASIA, Nouns are likely looking to reassert themselves at the top of the NA scene after a number of disappointing losses in recent months.
The team have missed out on multiple LAN opportunities due to losses against Wildcard, Elevate, and Party Astronauts, while their PGL Major Copenhagen Major Americas RMR campaign failed to net a spot at the first CS2 Major.
The addition of CLASIA follows another change to Nouns' composition, with Eric "adreN" Hoag taking the reins of the lineup as head coach and general manager while Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen has stepped into a content creation role.
Nouns did not respond to a request for comment from Dust2.us ahead of publication.
Nouns are expected to be:
-
Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly
-
Christopher "cJ" Jones
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
-
Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott
-
Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney
-
Eric "adreN" Hoag (Coach)
CLASIA is expected to make his debut with Nouns in short order, with the rifler signed up to play for Nouns today in the Esports World Cup North American Open Qualifier.
