Space Soldiers defeat eXtatus in Global Challenge semifinal
eXtatus began Space Soldiers pick of Overpass by winning the pistol, and took five additional rounds to boot. Ahmet "paz" Karahoca and Buğra "Calyx" Arkın were able to get the Turks on the board with a pair of double kills, but eXtatus immediately recovered and ran the score up to 10-1. Space Soldiers finally got their bearings, and powered by Calyx won the remaining rounds of the half.
eXtatus won the second pistol as well, thanks to a 3K from Patrik "DEV7L" Stuchlík, but were immediately reset by Space Soldiers, who proceeded to close the score within one. The Czech/Slovak team brough the score to 15-11, and Space Soldiers were able to hold them off for one more round before eXtatus stole the map.
eXtatus continued their winning ways from Overpass by taking their CT pistol on Mirage. The Czech/Slovak mix would win one more round before the Turks busted off five rounds in a row. Interrupted by a singular round from eXtatus, Space Soldiers would grab another four in a row, taking a commanding 9-3 lead. The half would ultimately end 10-5 in favor of the Turkish side.
Powered by frozen, eXtatus took the T pistol, bringing the score to 10-8 before Space Soldiers returned to the scoreboard with two rounds. eXtatus would only win one further round before Calyx and Space Soldiers took the map, evening the series at 1-1.
On the final map of the series, Inferno, eXtatus once again won the opening pistol, and Martin "MonttY" Melišek clutched out the follow up round to help extend the lead. Space Soldiers would take the fourth round by running down the clock, and take the score to 3-2. The teams would continue trading rounds until Space Soldiers would have a four round streak, and the half ended 8-7 in eXtatus' favor.
eXtatus won the last pistol of the series, making them a perfect 6/6, and would take on another round before the Turks busted off five of their own, extending their lead to 12-10. eXtatus' final three rounds of the match would once again give the Czech/Slovak side the lead, but then Space Soldiers shut the door. The final nail in eXtatus' coffin would be a misplay from MonttY, in which he allowed Calyx to plant the bomb in a 1v1.
