daf steps down from Mythic; zNf to stand in for immediate future
Felix-Antoine "daf" D'Avignon issued a TwitLonger on Tuesday announcing his retirement from CS:GO and subsequent departure from Mythic. Dust2.us has confirmed with Erik "fl0m" Flom that Donovan "zNf" Froid will be standing in for the immediate future, but that that remains a temporary arrangement due to zNf's full-time job and ongoing schooling.
daf noted in his statement that he doesn't feel that he loves the game enough to drop all of his other aspirations to pursue it full time and will be starting school to become a real estate agent in April. daf has posted a 1.01 rating in 23 maps since first joining Mythic at the end of January, exceeding the expectations of some who questioned his lack of quality teamplay experience when he originally joined the stream team.
zNf was Mythic's top-rated player in their 2-0 loss to paiN in ESEA Winter Cash Cup 6 this past weekend, where he finished with 39 kills and a 1.07 rating. He is of course no stranger to the stream team, having played with Mythic often in the past but will be playing with the team in ESEA Premier for the first time since he joined them for ESEA MDL Season 34.
Mythic are now:
- Erik "fl0m" Flom
- David "DAVEY" Stafford
- Eric "adreN" Hoag
- Josiah "JoJo" Jimenez
- Donovan "zNf" Froid (Stand-in)
Mythic have their next ESEA Premier Season 36 series against SKDC next Tuesday.
