What to expect from Complexity v. paiN

An Americas derby to kick off the second stage.

Complexity's Elimination Stage will start with a BO1 against paiN, who surprised everyone by being the first Americas team to advance from the Opening Stage. After two straight wins against ENCE and SAW, paiN hopes to keep the momentum going against a Complexity squad that has yet to play a single game in Copenhagen.

CompLEGENDS?

Complexity enters the second stage of the PGL Copenhagen Major with a lot to prove. The squad has been struggling to secure wins against European competition, and even against regional opponents, some cracks started to show. Thanks to changes to the qualification method, Complexity got to skip the first stage of the Major, as the North American squad finished the RMR with a 3-1 record. Now the team needs to show that the past months were just a bad phase.

  • Well-rested and fully focused

  • Studied PAIN's gameplan

  • Individual superiority

  • More experienced than paiN

The paiN train

This team is kicking off its Elimination Stage on the back of a huge momentum booster, with two statement wins over two difficult opponents, with Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt leading the team from the front. Some would say paiN's playstyle isn't very consistent, relying on the IGL to frag, but it has been working wonderfully so far. The question that remains is, can paiN keep the momentum going?

  • biguzera is by far the best player of the Opening Stage

  • n1ssim had his life game against SAW, can he do it again?

  • Already accustomed to the atmosphere in the studio

  • Had some days to rest

Previous Matchups

These two cores have not faced each other, until today. Still, the last time these two organizations met was during the BLAST.tv Paris Major Challengers Stage, where paiN beat Complexity 16-4 on Nuke. From that game, only biguzera remains on paiN, and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski was the only addition to the North American roster.

Likely Vetoes

  • paiN ban Ancient

  • paiN ban Anubis

  • Complexity ban Mirage

  • Complexity ban Nuke

  • Complexity ban Vertigo

  • paiN ban Overpass

  • Inferno will be the decider
