GSG9 sign with ImPerium
The former GSG9 lineup has signed with ImPerium leading up to ESEA Premier Season 36. This move comes shortly after the roster's announcement of their newest additions: Soham "valens" Chowdhury, Dave "seziwana" Schrage, and Eric "Ryze" Brown.
GSG9 finished fourth in ESEA Advanced Season 35 and then swept ex-Recon 5 and Rise en route to a berth in ESEA Premier Season 36. Just Richie "sherps" Sherpa and Johnny "JDubs" Wu remain from the original roster that climbed the ladder to ESEA's top flight this past season. The pair finished with 1.20 and 1.02 ratings in the Advanced playoffs, respectively.
ImPerium's previous MDL roster from ESEA Season 35 finished 3-13, only managing wins against ex-Recon 5, Vireo.pro, and Kinship. The organization parted ways with the lineup prior to postseason play, creating the opening that GSG9 have now filled.
ImPerium are now:
- Richie "sherps" Sherpa
- Johnny "JDubs" Wu
- Soham "valens" Chowdhury
- Dave "seziwana" Schrage
- Eric "Ryze" Brown
ImPerium could debut their new roster as early as this weekend's Mythic Winter Cup, the DreamHack Open January 2021 open qualifiers, or either of ESEA's remaining Winter Cash Cups, featuring noticeably heftier prize pools. ESEA Premier Season 36 starts next Monday, January 18th.
