Yeah best RBG to win Rush B FPL Cup 1
Yeah have bested RBG in the grand finals of the first Rush B FPL Cup, taking home the $2,000 top prize.
Prior to the grand finals, paiN and Yeah kicked off today's action with Yeah claiming a decisive 2-0 victory over paiN. Starting on Overpass, the two Brazilian squads were evenly matched at the half, with Yeah leading by a single round. After switching sides, Yeah won the map in a clinical manner, only conceding one more round before winning Overpass 16-8; thanks in part to a strong performance from Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer
Moving onto Train, the opening half was once again incredibly close, with Vinicios "PKL" Coelho's squad winning it 8-7. Overall, this map saw paiN's newest member, Rafael "saffee" Costa shine, as he claimed three 3Ks, however even after this stellar effort, Yeah managed to pull ahead on the 30th round and take the map 16-14, eliminating paiN.
The next semifinal series saw Counter Nature's upset streak come to an end, as RBG secured a quick 2-0 victory to meet Yeah in the finals. Inferno began with RBG putting up a strong performance, winning the opening half 12-3 before snuffing out a minor resurgence from Counter Nature to take the map 16-9.
On Vertigo, down a map and facing elimination, David "Delta9" Shafer and co. rallied in the opening half, winning it 9-6. This lead was short-lived however, as Josh "pwny" VanGorder put on a stellar performance, helping RBG to win Vertigo 16-13 and move on to the finals.
After much buildup, the finals turned out to be a largely one-sided affair for the Brazilian-American lineup, as Yeah bested their MDL opposition in two maps. Beginning the action on Vertigo, dumau continued to be a star fragger for Yeah, putting up 16 kills to power his team to a 9-6 half. On their T-side, Yeah won the opening pistol before RBG answered back with three rounds of their own to close the gap to a single round. However, their comeback was short-lived as Yeah found their footing and powered forward to win Vertigo 16-10.
The next map, Train, proved to be even more one-sided as after RBG won their CT-side pistol and the following round, Yeah ran away with the half winning eleven out of the next thirteen rounds to lead 11-4 at the half. After this, RBG managed to muster one more round before Yeah won the map 16-5, finishing the series in short order.
