Brazil has a new official broadcast

Gaules not awarded BR-PT Copenhagen Major streaming rights

After five years, another entity will take over the Brazilian broadcast.

For the first time in five years, Alexandre "Gaules" Borba has not been granted the Brazilian-Portuguese streaming rights to a Major. Instead, BTSBrasilTV in partnership with BetBoom, has been announced as the official BR-PT broadcast.

In confirmation to Dust2 Brasil, BTSBrasilTV CEO Fabio "Shaolin" Madia confirmed that the company will be broadcasting the Major, the three regional RMR events, and the closed qualifiers for North America, South America, and Europe on several different Twitch channels. The broadcaster also said they will have over 20 different casters and several special guests during the broadcasts.

Gaules, who has been awarded the BR-PT broadcasting rights for the Major since the 2019 StarLadder Berlin Major, took to X to comment on the decision. "We have redesigned the way of watching CS and we will continue to reinvent ourselves", the caster said. "They will never understand".

While Guales does not have the official broadcasting rights to the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major, this does not prevent the caster from broadcasting the event. PGL can approve casters to broadcast independently from the CSTV, so long as they adhere to the rules of the tournament organizer which includes broadcast delay and not using event images, the event stream, cameras, crowd images, or the official HUD.

The South American Closed Qualifier begins tomorrow, where seven teams will be chosen to meet the already nine teams established at the Americas RMR later this year in Monterrey, Mexico.
