Complexity survive elimination
North American fans can breath easy as their favorite team at DreamHack Atlanta has survived another day after a shocking upset to TheMongolz. Complexity were able to bounce back from that troubling defeat thanks to a dominant showing by Johnny "JT" Theodosiou against GamerLegion, who were trounced on two of the three maps in the final match of the night.
The game started off on the European's pick of Vertigo, where Complexity got their favored CT-side to start. This was a massive mistake by GamerLegion and Complexity made it hurt. The Americans started off the map by winning the first seven rounds in a row to make a daunting deficit, then cruised to a 10-2 half. Complexity soon put GamerLegion out of their misery by closing out the game 13-3, leading fans to think this would be a simple 2-0 victory. JT proved to be the difference maker on the map thanks to his 28 kills, 2.77 HLTV Rating, and 3.15 Impact rating.
Complexity was trying to wrap up the contest on their pick of Nuke, but GamerLegion had other ideas. The Europeans put up a strong defense as they took the advantage at the half 7-5. However, they would then start off red-hot on their T-side and soon make it to match point before Complexity could even get their feet under themselves. The Americans staged a late comeback to make it close at 12-11, but failed to convert the final round and lost 13-11.
Now, the two sides headed to Overpass to settle this back and forth game. Complexity were lucky enough to start on their CT-side and made sure not to let that gift go to waste. Once again, Complexity took a 7-0 lead before GamerLegion could claim a single round and would end the half just like they did on Vertigo, with a 10-2 scoreline. This time, Complexity made sure to somehow even improve on their Vertigo scoreline as they shutout GamerLegion in the second half to win the map 13-2 and the series 2-1.
Complexity, bouncing back from that troubling upset in the morning, are now prepared to revisit with TheMongolz in a best-of-three to decide who will go to the playoffs at DreamHack Atlanta.
