KSCERATO confirms he turned down Liquid approach
Liquid are inching closer and closer to their new roster following a failed venture in Europe. During the formation process of the roster, which has now seen both Casper "cadiaN" Møller and their former rifler, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken verbally agree to join the squad, they spoke with FURIA's Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato about possibly joining to create arguably one of the most feared teams in the world.
Dust2.us reported at the time that Liquid had approached the player about joining. The American-Dutch organization was pushing hard for the superstar rifler, but in the end were forced to look at other available options.
In an interview with HLTV after the fact, KSCERATO spoke about Liquid's approach and the potential of leaving FURIA.
Yeah, they invited me to play for them. But for now, I have a lot of things in mind, I had a lot of tough times this year. So I think for now I want to stay in FURIA because I love my team, I love the organization, and I love the people behind the organization. And I think for now, for me, the best was to stay with FURIA.
However the rifle was not ready to completely shut out moving to an international team in the future. In response to a question asking if it was important to stay in a Brazilian team, KSCERATO explained that it actually didn't matter too much.
It’s good, but I don’t know what to say because it is way better to play in a Brazilian team because Portuguese is my native language. But I don’t think it’s a problem in CS to play in English. For me, there is no problem with playing in Brazil or somewhere else. The Brazilians will always cheer for me and support me no matter where I am.
I don't know, man. I don't know about tomorrow. I’m just thinking that for now, I'm happy here. Maybe someday, but I'm not sure about that. I'm still young, I’m 24, so I have a long career ahead. So it seems a bit early to think about that because if you think about that, you’re not focusing on the present. So for now... I think maybe (laughs).
FURIA are in the middle of PARI Please 2023 where they are currently taking on Aurora.
