ShahZaM and SicK make switch to VALORANT with Sentinels
Sentinels have signed signed former CS:GO pros Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and Hunter "SicK" Mims to their inaugural VALORANT roster. The organization is best known for being the home of Fortnite World Cup champion Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf.
Joining ShahZaM and SicK will be Jay "sinatraa" Won, who was a world-champion Overwatch League DPS for the San Francisco Shock. sinatraa announced his retirement from Overwatch earlier this evening following a career that saw him lead the Shock to an OWL title and Team USA to a victory in the Overwatch World Cup. He was named the MVP on both squads.
Their fourth teammate is a lateral transfer from the Sentinels' Apex Legends squad, Jared "zombs" Gitlin. zombs mained Pathfinder in Apex and most notably won the showmatch at TwitchCon San Diego this past September. He was also a part of the first trio in the world to attain the Apex Predator rank when ranked mode was released for the game.
ShahZam played in three Majors during his CS:GO career, most notably as a part of Complexity's quarterfinal run at the FACEIT London Major in 2018. He also played for Cloud9, Tempo Storm, Conquest, OpTic, Echo Fox, and Misfits during his five year career as one of North America's most notable AWPers.
This move makes him teammates with SicK once again, having previously played with him on Complexity and Misfits. SicK announced his intent to transition to VALORANT one week ago upon his departure from Chaos.
Sentinels' VALORANT roster is currently:
- Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan
- Hunter "SicK" Mims
- Jay "sinatraa" Won
- Jared "zombs" Gitlin
The team are still in search of a fifth player to round out their competitive roster.
