Polar Ace fire CEO over embezzling allegations
Dust2.us has learned that Polar Ace have dismissed and fired their CEO Zachary "Text" Allen over allegations that he stole around $6,000-$10,000 from the organization during his tenure.
Text had been the CEO of Polar Ace since November 23rd, 2019 when he took over day-to-day operations from Polar Ace's owner Derek Dobosz. During his time as the head of operations, the organization had a number of controversies including the dismissal of the lineup featuring Derek "dare" Brown and Shane "shane" Dressler due to previous racist comments along with malicious activity and community conduct violation bans on ESEA.
The organization also parted ways with their Polar Ace North lineup two months later due to alleged violations of their contract, poor in-game conduct, and foul-play during matches. In contrast, a member of blood, sweat, and tears denies these accusations, saying that they requested to be released by Polar Ace due to the organization being unable to sponsor them for LAN tournaments due to COVID-19.
In his TwitLonger, Derek Dobosz stresses that the organization will look to rebuild from this loss, planning on temporarily scaling down spending ahead of upcoming sponsorship and roster announcements. However, at the same time and for a reportedly unrelated reason, six staff members have parted ways with the team or been cut, including the team's former CS:GO manager "Zephyr".
Additionally, Dust2.us has learned that Polar Ace have released their Polar Ace South lineup.
Polar Ace South featured:
- Oliver "figment" Thompson
- Troy "ara" Pollock
- Christopher "Swahn" Swahn
- Wesley "viz" Harris
- Brennan "grape" Greer
Dust2.us has reached out to Text regarding his dismissal, with him stating that he was dismissed for "misuse of funds" and offering no further comment. Dust2.us knows that the Polar Ace organization are actively trying to recover the alleged money from Text and at this time, law enforcement has not been involved in the internal investigation.
