Polar Ace release team after community backlash
Polar Ace have released their Advanced team after coming under fire from the community in recent weeks.
The uproar against the team formerly known as timbermen largely stemmed from the past behavior of Derek "dare" Brown and Shane "shane" Dressler, with both players sporting extensive ESEA ban histories for infractions such as malicious activity, racism, threatening, and numerous community conduct violations.
Prior to yesterday, the majority of the team had remained silent on the matter, though in-game leader Noah "insane" Eheart released several TwitLongers. Additionally, both he and Jake "eptima" Allen claimed that such behavior from dare and shane had not occurred while the team were under the Polar Ace banner.
Eventually the community outcry became too much for Polar Ace to ignore. Following their release, the majority of the roster have now put out tweets apologizing for their actions and vowing be better moving forward.
The team, now apparently going by the name twentythrees, are currently 0-2 in Advanced, with their next matches set to come against Whatever It Takes and utopiaN.
twentythrees are:
- Shane "shane" Dressler
- Noah "insane" Eheart
- Derek "dare" Brown
- Wyatt "snav" Phillippi
- Jake "eptima" Allen
As for Polar Ace, the release announcement specified that the organization plan to be supporting "a new roster within a few days."
It may be even sooner than that, though, as "blood, sweat, and tears" have already changed their team name on ESEA to Polar Ace. A representative of the organization told Dust2.us that the signing has not yet been finalized.
